- What we built
- A 3D box you fill with any mix of six cookies
- A six-step order path where a person checks each GCash payment
- Pickup hours and delivery zones, each with its own minimum
Small bakeries usually take orders in chat threads: a customer asks for a mix of flavors, someone works out the total, a GCash screenshot arrives, and the pickup time gets lost in the scroll. Barty Bakes moves that whole exchange onto one calm page, built around a box you fill yourself.
Barty Bakes makes browned butter, soft-baked cookies in boxes of six, plus muffins and brownies, baked to order in small batches. The website is in preview: online ordering opens soon, and the menu and prices shown are placeholders, which a banner at the top of every page says.
The product problem
A bake-to-order shop has a few rules that a generic store template gets wrong:
- every box has a fixed count, but customers want to mix flavors freely;
- payment by GCash has to be checked before anything goes in the oven;
- pickup has set hours, and delivery depends on the area;
- the kitchen's address should not be public before an order is confirmed.
A box you can fill
The hero is a 3D pink box. Visitors can drag to spin it and tap to drop a cookie in, while a counter reads "0 of 6 in the box". The rule that follows is simple enough to fit in a heading: "Any mix. Always six." Two of one flavor and four of another, or one of each, and the box price stays the same.
Three boxes, one oven
The menu stays short on purpose: a signature cookie box of six, a muffin box of four in two flavors, and chocolate brownies by the piece or in a box of four. Each card says how many pieces it holds and leads straight into building that box.
From your cart to our oven
The ordering section shows exactly what happens after someone taps order, in six steps: build a box, choose pickup or delivery, pay with GCash within 24 hours, send the proof, wait while a person finds the payment and confirms by email, then collect or receive the order. "Checked by a person" is stamped on the step that matters most.
Pickup and delivery
Pickup runs Tuesday to Friday, 9 AM to 2 PM, usually ready one to two hours after payment is confirmed. Delivery covers selected areas of Bulacan and Metro Manila, each with its own fee and minimum order; in the preview these are marked as test zones. The pickup address appears on the order page only after payment is confirmed.
A voice of its own
The writing is warm and specific: "Butter, browned on purpose" explains the one technique in every cookie, a three-step strip shows butter going from melted to foaming to toasted, and Crumbs, the site's assistant, helps visitors pick a box or check delivery.
What the work reinforced
- Make the product the interface. Filling a box teaches the pricing rule faster than a table.
- Say who checks the payment. A named human step builds trust in manual payments.
- Share the address when it is needed. Privacy for the kitchen, clarity for the customer.
Continuing work
Barty Bakes is in preview until online ordering opens, and this story will be updated when it does. If you run a made-to-order business, write down your real order steps first, then design the page to match them.
